Santo Domingo

The capital of the Dominican Republic was the first city founded in America. Its old centre, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, just invites travellers to visit its museums, monuments, Colonial houses, etc. Its cathedral is characterised by being the first that was built in America and by its peculiar synthesis of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance styles.
Santo Domingo is a museum piece, an adventure book in full sunlight, the cultural and political centre of the country. You can see a little bit of everything. It is a mixture in which the history of the Colonisation of the continent becomes pure passion to the rhythm of Merengue.
