Tenerife
This is the largest island on the Canary archipelago. Its most significant feature is the great richness and variety of its landscapes due to the difference in climate between the north of the island - damp and leafy - and the southern drier and sunnier half. One of the greatest attractions of the island is Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain with a height of 3,708 metres, from where you can contemplate unforgettable views. Other "musts" to visit are the Natural Park of Las Cañadas and Icod de los Vinos, a town where you can admire the Wind Cave (the largest volcanic cavity on the planet) and the oldest Dragon tree in the world. Furthermore one should see Puerto Santa Cruz, with the largest artificial saltwater lake in Spain. Its coastline also offers beautiful contrasts, such as the fascinating cliffs and the beaches with golden or black sand.
